A Cashier Sees One Shop and One Till
Most till software gives everybody the same screen and hopes. Access here is scoped to the outlet somebody works in, and what they can do once they are there is set per screen.
How it works
How access is controlled
Access assigned per outlet
Outlet access decides which shops a person can reach at all, so a cashier at one branch cannot see another branch’s takings.
Forty-four roles, not three
Roles are built rather than chosen from a short list, with view, create, update and delete set separately on every screen.
A landing page per role
Each role has its own redirect after sign-in, so a cashier arrives at the till rather than at a dashboard they have no use for.
Permissions down to a widget
Dashboard widgets and report groups are permissions in their own right, so somebody can run a till without being shown the company’s figures.
A session that has to be closed
Counter sessions open with a float and close counted, with cash short or excess computed and a supervisor verification step.
Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Can a cashier see sales from other branches?
Not unless you give them access to those outlets. Outlet access is assigned per user and governs what they can reach.
Can I stop staff seeing profit figures?
Yes. Dashboard widgets and report groups are separately permissioned, so a role can use the till and never see company totals.
What happens at the end of a shift?
The counter session is closed against a counted drawer. Expected and counted are compared, short or excess is computed, and a supervisor can verify the session.
Can somebody edit a session after it is verified?
Verification is the point at which a session is settled. The trail of what was expected, what was counted and who verified it stays on the record.
